🔹CLOSED -- NO HIKES🔹
❄️ SNOW DAYS ❄️
TRs will be CLOSED for ALL day-of services
when Newton and Weston public schools close.
☀️ EXCESSIVE HEAT / DANGEROUS WEATHER DAYS 🔥
TRs will be CLOSED for ALL day-of services if/when the weather is deemed
hazardous and considered a risk to the health of dogpals.
⚡️ INCLEMENT WEATHER ADJUSTMENTS 💨
A typical TRs hike is 60 minutes, however we reserve the right to
adjust the hike length based on the well-being of any dogpals in our care.
(ie. weather that is scaring any dogpals / weather that is visibly
causing harm to any dogpal’s well-being)

All Rompery Details!
*📍= Clickable!! *
• Admin — MelMo (Melissa Moore):
You will often hear me referring to our Admin / office-gatekeeper as “MelMo”.
You are welcome to call her MelMo or Melissa.
• Dog Towels:
Please leave a dog-towel near your pal’s leash and/or notebook! (No worries if you forget to leave one — We will shoot you a text to find out where one can be found.)
• Hike Cancellation Policy:
🔺-Hike Cancellations MUST be submitted via email to MelMo by 7am the morning of an exercise service (hike / pitstop) in order to avoid a charge!
(We only have so many spaces for each service. If cancellations come in on-time there is still an opportunity to fill the space! Late cancellations do not allow for this — thus the reason for the late charge.)
• Hike Details:
Once the Romp Requirements are all set, there are only a couple remaining items to finalize before romping!
~ All dogpals must have a flat collar to wear during hikes
~ TRs will need access to a dog-towel (or will need to know where to find one)
~ TRs will need to know where a hose / rinsing area can be found post-hike… just in case
Additional Details To Note:
— Hikes are $30 per hike (for 1 dog), and are run Monday - Friday. Weekend hike spaces are reserved for sleepover dogpals only.
— All scheduling requests MUST be emailed to Melissa (MelMo) at Admin@trailrompers.dog!*
• Hike Timing:
Please email MelMo if you are not able to remember which time-slot your dogpal is in!
• Hoses / Hosing / Rinsing:
Things are starting to freeze up on the trails BUT… the gnarly nature-offerings aren’t totally gone so mud / swamps / all kinds of mess are plenty accessible and possible!
We do not want to leave your dogpal in the house muddy, so please let us know where a hose / rinse option is located for giving your dogpal a quick rinse! [If your hose is not out and you do not have a quick rinse-off option, please do leave a towel out or let us know where to find one so we can do our best to get your pal cleaned off!!]
• Invoices:
-Still being emailed from PetPocketBook on the 1st of every month.
-We are working out the various remaining kinks / growing pains, so….
⚠️-There will come a time when you receive an invoice even though you have already paid that particular bill!
⚠️*If a check was handed to me / mailed to me / sent anywhere other than to MelMo’s address, there will be a delay in the payment getting into PPB! [It will get in there eventually — But it is likely to hang in Limbo with me for a little while…]
• Mud / Swamps / Nature-Made Grossness:
These hikes are off-leash…. So chances are your dogpal is going to find something superduper gnarly to roll around in!
I’m sorry to say that they absolutely love it!!
Please be sure to make us aware of your outdoor-hose location, or where we can find cleansing wipes and/or towels for your buddies post-romp clean-off! [We will always do our best to leave dogpals as we found them . . . We just need to know where to find those cleaning-off items!! See “Dog Towels” and “Hoses” above!]
• Payments: Please send bill payments to:
Melissa Moore / Trail Rompers
628 Wellman Ave.
North Chelmsford, MA 01863
• PetPocketBook:
Please add “hello@petpocketbook.com” to your email address book! Otherwise you will wonder why you haven’t been receiving invoices… it’s because they are in your spam folder 😃
• Pit Stop:
No off-leash hike openings available?
Might your dogpal just need a quick potty break?
This service will provide your pal with a brief stroll -- enough to pee (and hopefully poop!), a water refill, treats, a snugg and smooches! (max visit time approximately 15 minutes; $25/visit)
• Poop:
*Deer Poop / Critter Poop: This is manageable to clean off of your dogpals, even after they’ve had a field-day rolling around in it.
If we happen to know where to find dog wipes or baby wipes at drop off, however, all the better!
*Human Poop: I’m sorry to say that this problem presses on…
Between the hunters / grounds workers / golfers and runners, this continues to be an uphill battle. We have notified both the department of conservation and the police again this year, however we are still not making progress with regard to signage or trail camera requests.
In the meantime, we have put our own “Please Pick Up!” signs on the trails and will continue dropping dogpals off at your preferred Newton groomer post-human-poop-hike to get your buddies deep-cleaned and sanitized.
—> *The local groomers Trail Rompers has been working with over the years are the following locations:

- Doggone-It! — Newton Centre 📍 <— click to call
- Dyno Mutt — Waban 📍 <— click to call
• Schedule Changes / Schedule Requests (all services):
Requests must be emailed to MelMo (Melissa Moore) at admin@trailrompers.dog — Requests will go unseen otherwise!
If you have a DAY OF SERVICE cancellation or hope to snag a DAY-OF hike, send a quick text to Stacey by 9am That Morning!
• Sleepover — 8+ Nights:
For sleepover stints that run 9+days / 8+ nights, these will continue to be charged at a reduced rate.
• Sleepover Cancellations — Holiday or School Vacation:
🔺*If your pal is booked for a sleepover during a holiday or school vacation and you need to cancel, these cancellations MUST be in by or on the 1st of the month in which the sitting was scheduled to take place, in order to avoid being charged!!*
🔺-Sleepovers during these stints are always in much higher demand than most think, and there are only so many sleepover spots.
To avoid any charges or fees, these sleepovers must be cancelled BY OR ON the 1st of that month.
• Sleepover Cancellations — Non-Holiday:
🔺-Sleepover Cancellations MUST be submitted via email to MelMo at admin@trailrompers.dog BY 7am the morning of a scheduled pickup in order to avoid a charge in full!
• Sleepover Details:
Necessities To Send With Your DogPal!
-Food with serving measurements listed somewhere
-Current medications (if any) they will need with instructions
-Flat collar (standard collar) and leash
-Any other instructions / specifics I should know (for example: allergies, behavior quirks, general reminders about anything you want to make sure that I have noted!)
Not Needed Because We Have Enough For A Small Army: Beds, blankets, bowls, toys, regular treats!
*ALLERGIES*:
If your pal is on a strict diet and is not allowed standard treats, please send their own along (labeled!) so that they don't feel left out!**
• Sleepover Timing:
-Pick-Ups for sleepovers are available: Weekdays around 3pm and Sundays (flexible pick-up time)
-Drop-Offs for sleepovers are available: Weekdays at 9am or 6pm and Sundays (flexible drop-off time)
[Saturday pick-ups / drop-offs are not available]
• Snow Day Closures:
If your town has closed the schools due to inclement weather, then Trail Rompers closes as well.
[If your town/city does not want school buses on the roads, then I’d rather both myself and my hikers remain safe and off the roads as well!]
• Vet Release Form and Client Info Sheet:
Both forms must be submitted before any pal can head out on their trial hike or begin regularly scheduled hikes!
